Â鶹AV Board of Regents Meets on Friday, December 20
Baltimore, Md. (Dec. 18, 2024) – The Â鶹AV (Â鶹AV) Board of Regents will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 20. The board will convene at the University of Â鶹AV Global Campus (UMGC), in the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.

Members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.
The board will hear an education forum, “Update on and Discussion of Intercollegiate Landscape.” The presenter is NCAA Vice President of Division I Jennifer Fraser.
The board will vote on several action items, including new academic programs at the University of Â鶹AV, Baltimore, Bowie State University, Salisbury University, and the University of Baltimore. The board also will hear reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students.
The agenda includes information items with updates regarding research and economic development and the initial report of the Â鶹AV High Impact Economic Development Activities (HIEDA) Task Force.
The final item of the public session will be a vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. Exempted items include meetings with a president as part of a performance review; an update on status of collective bargaining at Â鶹AV institutions; an information update regarding specific personnel contracts; updates on three personnel matters concerning individual employees at Â鶹AV institutions; discussion with counsel about NCAA litigation and advice from counsel on implication regarding post-settlement implementation; discussion regarding proposed fiscal year 2026 operating budget submission and potential adjustments to the submission; discussion regarding a president’s board membership; discussion regarding an individual’s employment agreement; and annual board officer elections.
